Where Digital meets Direct Current
The DC World Conference & Exhibition brings together stakeholders from the digital and direct current (DC) sectors who are working hand-in-hand to drive a sustainable energy transition.
The rise of digital services and tools (AI, IoT, etc.), the electrification of end-uses, the growing share of renewable energy, and the need for energy efficiency and flexibility have made the deployment of direct current a major societal issue.
By combining digital technologies with direct current, territories can gradually shift toward a New Energy Landscape, addressing key challenges such as energy decarbonisation, improved energy efficiency, and enhanced power flexibility—by dynamically matching power demand with available supply. This transformation represents a true revolution, impacting all actors in the value chain: energy providers, manufacturers, installers, operators, real estate developers, and urban planners. It marks a deep shift in the energy paradigm—combining centralized and local production, energy storage, Smart Grids, DC Grids, and diversified energy mixes.
This shift requires smart energy distribution and management: evolving infrastructure, native integration of multiple energy sources, and reducing unnecessary AC/DC conversions—with a single goal: enabling a new energy paradigm based on efficiency, flexibility, storage, and renewables.
To address these major technical, environmental, societal, regulatory, and economic challenges, DC World positions itself as the key Conference & Exhibition uniting the pioneers of this industrial « revolution ».
Main themes for 2026 :
- Power electronics and Solid State technology for a shift towards DC
- Fuel cells (hydrogen) and energy storage: can DC revive the hydrogen industry?
- Why is the transition to DC inseparable from the massive deployment of renewable energies (solar, wind, etc.)?
- Electricity network blackout : DC Grids as a response
- Street lighting, air conditioning, heat pumps: what are the advantages of going full DC?
- DC Data Centers : For a virtuous ecosystem in response to environmental and economic challenges
- Bidirectional electric vehicles as an essential link in the stability of the electricity grid
- What type of energy storage should be favoured and at what scale (house, apartment block, residence, district, etc.)?
- Cables & grids : the right size to guarantee continuity of service
- Flexible energy demand and collective self-consumption: the digital twin as an essential tool
